Guest Tuft
Hi,I'm having trouble selecting fifth gear. It's grinds every time and only double de-clutching seems to get it in gear. It will occasionally jump out of fifth too. It's an MTX-75 in a 1.8 Si. If it is the fifth gear syncro, how easy is it to replace? Is it behind the end cover on the gearbox. I can't seem to find much info or diagrams on the net. Any advise would be much appreciated.
Guest jbh325i
to be honest id be looking up at the local breakers or ebay for a gearbox a lot less hassle than stripping a box down to repair it. either that or there is places that would recondition your gearbox but its not cheap. Guest Tuft
Yes, I was thinking the same. There are a few on fleabay so I'll just keep an eye out. Not many breakers in north Devon! Thank you for your thoughts.
