Guest millmoo
Hi, any tips on how to restore the lost glory to the red hood of my Mk4 XR3i cabrio? I left it down in the summer for a few days and when it went up the moisture seems to have caused a loss of colour on the front half of the hood. Thanks, J
Basilbear
Hi Millmoo, there is some fabric roof restorer on ebay....I got some black to try and used it on the door rubber bits (the bits that tend to fade purple) and it worked a treat. I am sure they do it in different colours. This is a link to the stuff I got, they don't seem to have any red advertised buts its worth asking. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BLUE-CONVERTIBLE-CAR-HOOD-ROOF-COLOUR-REVIVER-RESTORER-/370456853290?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item5640f2fb2a Hope it helps Thanks Avril
Guest millmoo
Hi Looks like good stuff, but they don't do it in red. Might just try the Auto Gtm protectant/cleaner to see if it does anything.
Guest corrie
ive been having the same bother with my vinyl black roof i replaced last summer and from new it has patches of white on the roof so tried alsorts on it silicone dulled it down but when it got wet the silicone ran down the paintwork making a mess so gonna try black boot polish as that is a wax. but just had a thought whilst typing this i used to use a hair dryer on the faded black bumpers on other cars to bring the polymers back to the surface. so maybe trying it on the roof might just work.
