Guest s6boy1979
Mine is an efi and mine was running rich. Any garage that does mot's can adjust the mixture for about £20. If that doesn't sort it them the fuel pressure regulator needs adjusting at the same time which is a bit more specialised. A rolling road session is def worth doing but not cheap but they will get it running spot on or tell you if you need to replace anything to get it running how it should. The non turbo cvh's do tend to tick over not as smooth as the turbos

Guest s6boy1979
On the efi the mixture adjuster is on the inner wing infront of the bat, can't remember exactly what it is called. Def worth getting on a machine and set up or you could ask if the garage that does the mot if they can adjust the mixture, most decent places will

Guest s6boy1979
Unless you got the machine to read the emissions you won't be able to get it right
Guest s6boy1979
One thing I forgot to ask, does the car tick over lumpy and does the engine sound tappety?
gingergman
leave it for the mot if its comming up soon, it will fail the emissions, but they can ajust it properly for you, and will be cheaper them doing it than a mobile tuning bloke
Guest s6boy1979
That depends on the test centre, I've been to places that wouldn't even change a bulb even after I said I would pay lol
Guest dave29
One thing I forgot to ask, does the car tick over lumpy and does the engine sound tappety? lol. did you used to own it pmsl. yeah it does.the needle on the rev counter sits just over the 2 mark on the clocks but as the car warms up it dont do it as much.one thing i noticed when i was under the bonnet that there is a flexi hose that goes behind the front bumper thats supposed to be conected to the air box n it aint so that mite cause the tick over problem. Guest s6boy1979
It could be worn tappets and cam as they are as soft as shit. That hose sounds like it could be a cold air feed which will make no difference but can't picture it in my head what pipe you mean lol

Guest s6boy1979
Nah they are hydraulic, so making sure you have enough of the right is a must, the engine isn't knackered and the cvh is always a bit tappety and the top end does wear out quickly if not looked after properly
