Dont know what to do to be honest as after all its ment to be her car but i'm always driving it so might put the 130ps stuff on it and see how it goes, or i have been told the 1800 130ps map is so close to the 2.0 zetec map on the ecu that i could fit a 2.0 and run the 130 MAF and throttle body & ecu with little to no difference to doing a full rewire to run the 2.0 ecu. decisions, decisions Edited April 16, 2011 by gavintwopies

Guest gavintwopies
Also before i end up doing the same thing i did last time and killing my computer by flattening it i thought it best i get the relay fuse pack info i used to get the loom safe and working. i cant take full thanks on this as its more of a modified version that the xr2 kids run without the feedback to the ecu from the fuel pump circuit to keep it switched on, as this was modded to suit the 1.8 escort set-up from the 2.0 pre-pats set-up. then if you cobble that with the multi pin plug on the bulkhead it all sort of makes sence. 92FB-12A650-CD 2FBCD ECU: 12PIN BULKHEAD CONNECTOR: PIN1 COIL +12V FUSED (BLACK) PIN2 FUEL PUMP RELAY EARTH TRIGGER PIN22 ON ECU (BROWN) PIN3 REV COUNTER TACHO PIN4 ON ECU (GREEN) PIN4 OCTANE ADJUST PIN29 ON ECU (BROWN/WHITE) PIN5 ENGINE CONTROL RELAY PIN37,57 ON ECU AND POWER FOR ALL SENSORS (BLACK/GREEN) PIN6 OIL PRESSURE SWITCH (BROWN/GREEN) PIN7 CONSTANT +12V FOR ECU MEMORY (RED) PIN8 HEGO (LAMBDA) +12V FUSED 15A (BLACK/RED) PIN9 ENGINE TEMP SENDER (BROWN/WHITE) PIN10 AIRCON TRIGGER PIN10 ON ECU (BLACK/WHITE) PIN11 AIRCON TRIGGER PIN54 ON ECU (BROWN/GREEN) PIN12 NOT USED Just been looking at the 130ps power figures and the 2.0 zetec power figures and theres not a lot in it to be honest not so much that it would warrent a full engine exchange. 1800 16v 130ps.............129bhp and 120lb/ft vs 2000 16v 136ps.............135bhp and 129lb/ft not to mention whats in now. 1800 16v 105ps.............104bhp and 110lb/ft. looking at it i think there so similar the 130 route will probably be the end of the engine conversion on the car and i will reserve the 2.0 for my next project. Guest gavintwopies
well i finally got round to fitting the 130 stuff and the car seems even smoother in general!!! 1st off the tickover seems smoother and the pick up from tick over seems smoother also, obviously quicker but would say its more like top end power gain, rather than more power over the full rev range. also still aint got round to fitting the 60ohms resistor pack yet so still running a side light bulb for now, coz A, i'm lazy and B, if aint broke 'n all that But since going 130 i'm finding brake fade is now only a hard pedal press away so after modifying a set of rst lucas discs and blasting and painting some rst calipers up these will need to find there way onto the cab ASAP. Guest gavintwopies
Well i never thought i would see the day i managed to attend a meeting or show with a car of my own even Ade Brennan took a snap shot for fast-ford of my missus in her motor wearing a pink ford t-shirt, so it might end up as a small pic on the cover they do of the meeting. I managed to drag 2 m8s along too both of which are not on the cab-owners-club but will keep badgering them also a 1/2 arsed arty shot that went a bit poo at the last minute. Guest gavintwopies
Well had a couple of funny turns with the car 1st thing in the morning last week, it would start but once it got about 1/4 mile down the road it would cut out at a junction i was waiting at and would not start again for a good few mins???? Once started it was fine all the way to work but did not do it when i came to take it back home?? Did it 2 days in a row then on the 3rd it was fine ??? once i was on shift change as i went to leave at 6AM it stalled in the car park then again 200yards at a junction and was again a pain to start up for a few mins then drove home fine???? Did some digging about on the net, turns out some plank advised me that the 130bhp stuff used a 2.0 zetec sized MAF...... well guess what? it does'nt!!! the 105ps MAF is the same one or is the same size as the 130 ones!!! 1 MAF swap later back to the original 105 i took off and wall-a the car drive spot on from cold, and an added bonus is noticably quicker too
Guest gavintwopies
Well as of late i have done nowt with the cab due to it being used daily and is now sooooooooo reliable. But being what it is i have now secured my self a power hood set-up and a set of rear bias valves and std brake fluid bottle as i'm going to take the crappy ABS off very soon and upgrade the brakes to the grooved ones should have been done sooner but its soooo reliable (lazy!) Guest gavintwopies
Nice looking orion what engine plan's you got then Gav ? What's the escort having done ????? Well the full intention was just to run the car as the std 1400 while i finished off the bonus, however i have a 1800 zetec engine lying around inc a 105ps engine bay loom and an EFI tank so the temptation is growing to great as well as the though of removing the blacktop 2.0 from the bonus and running that in the orion on EFI. Whats going on with the escort is on another thread on here.
