Guest corrie
like the title says my 1991 1.6efi isrunning way too rich and the idle screw in the throttle body does absolutely nothing when adjusted i cant get it to tick over any less than 1000rpm even without the idle control valve plugged in sometimes it also hangs at about 1100rpm then drops i have tried to adjust the mixture screw on the inner wing but that does nothing either and it jerks and hicks but not misfires when driving slow in traffic. has anyone got any ideas what is up with her. also the temp gets really hot and fan does not cut in even on the red but that maybe the fan switch. but was wondering could it be an engine temp switch but is that the same one as the gauge? Guest s6boy1979
Does it pull ok when stepping on the gas? I have the same problem and changed so many things but turned out the fuel pump was on it's way out and the mixture agjuster was broken so did nothing. changed them and it's fine now just need to get the moxture spot on but i have a gargae putting it on the machine on Friday to do this for me. Also have a look at the fuel pressure regulator as these course problems
