Guest Cabbytech
Can you hear the central locking activate/deactivate when you turn the key ? on my old mk 5 cab if i opened the door from the passenger side, it would never start so i had to lock it at the passenger side and then re-open it from the drivers side, also check that they reconnected the battery terminals tightly, and confirm if the PATS lamp is flashing, they usualy come on constant at first when you turn ignition on and then start doing a flash pattern, ie 3 flashes and then a gap and then repeat, this is the fault code, let us know how you get on
Guest Gwynne
just to let you no i called a auto elec out who said he could fix it for £50 call out,he came and with in ten mins he fixed the problem.he said the aa guy had pulled some fueses out of the back of the box,he then clipped some wires and re solderd them back, the red light now flashes as normal and starts first time.he also said the alarm will not give me any more problems.nice honest guy who did not try to rip you off.thanks . Guest corrie
just a little tip here when the battery is disconnected the alarm system stays in its last state so you have to go to the box in the foot well and disconnect the smallest plug and plug it back in and it clears the memory and alarm goes back to factory setting so the auto electrician would have known this and charge you £50 for unplugging and plugging it back in.
