Guest spaceman
Morning all. I currently have spax fixed rate shocks with 30mm AVO springs all round but the ride is a bit to harsh especially with all of the potholes at the minute and car is a daily. Just wondered what shocks people are running that give best compromise between handling & ride? Also, the rear of the car sits a bit high when only me in the car, does anyone else have the same problem and how can I best sort it apart from putting a bag of sand in the boot! Thanks

gingergman
the ride in cabs is always quite harsh, especially im mk4's. i dont know any lowerd shocks that will soften it up, also, big wheels wont help the situation, thats if your rolling on 17s or something? Guest shaun
Hi my cabbie run's all standard spring's and shocks i don't have a harsh ride with 15s(195/50/15) on so if you want smoother ride go for standard mine dont sit high as you will see in pics in show us your's dont rub either with 5 guy's in ... been in loads which have been lowered and ride is hard as flock and tho's who's been in mine have said that they wish they stayed on standard's....i also dont have prob's with sleeping policeman or stupid speed humps... so it's up to you lot to sort what your going to do........... Guest steelcabby
they always sit higher on the back chap. if you want it to look level. then a 20mm drop on the front and 30mm on the back might help abit. but a good all round combo would be 25mm RS Turbo g-max suspension all round on no higher than 16" wheels. maybe a 50 profile tyre would help to keep it smoother. if you want to drop it level on the back its alot of fussing around and you will lose your ride comfort. you just have to think weather you want comfort or looks with these cars imo
LeeMcCarthy
i would rather go with comfort as there is nothing sexy about getting out your cab roughed up from a harsh ride lol
