Central Locking Dilema

right guys need advise again on this moter i just bought trying to get the wee fiddilly bits out the road,anyway heres my problem

 

oh its a mk5 k plate xr3i cabriolet

 

took the door panel off and found the central locking part wasnt around the barrel,also found that the fuse was taken out!

 

so i put the barrel part on checked the kick panel for the control module etc all seems ok,put the fuse in and the ALARM! goes off its nut,tried putting key in door lock to deactivate it but didnt do anything!!!

 

any suggestions?

Hmmm, it sounds like the central locking mechanism is not disarming, thats prob why it was taken off, try operating it manually and see if alarm goes off when you then open the door, i suspect it is either broken or just not engaging properly, and they are the most fiddly thing to align and fit as well, out of curiousity when you lock the door with your key, does the red LED on your clock flash ?
