seems to be the cold weather is killing all the cvh engines.

ok so you replaced the plugs and leeds, did you pur them in correct order?

is it possible it might have jumped the timing?

just a quick question, as ive not looked at my rs or my cabby engine for at least a week, but doesnt the cvh have a phase sensor on the right hand side?

have you been looking at the other posts to see if they have similar related problems to you?

Dunno what or where the phase sensor is. Yeah the firing order is correct, just got a coil pack from scrappy like new so will give it a go then I'm lost from there.

Yeah timing belt is tight. It is getting fuel and spark.

an engine needs 3 things to run fuel, spark, and air, so must b air system any cracks or splits in air pipe to air filter?

so it pops and bang, which means there is a spark, but could be week, caused bu coil, ,have you checked the spark,

does the pump prime?

is the fuel filter clogged?

how old is the fuel in the tank?

so the plug /leeds dizzy, coil, rotar arm

you checked that none of the above has any corrosion?

the plugs, leads at both ends, the dizzy, and the rotar inside, and the leed to and from the coil

have u checked the fusebox, with the relays under the bonnet, as its a bad design and a water trap, i dont know if your motor is garaged or outside, but with the weather the last week, could be a long shot,

my first rs turbo, the grey on i pulled to bits, on my project page, when i first bought that i went to pick it up, about 20 miles down the road i stopped to put in fuel, everything was fine, went to restart, and nothing, it turned over, but then stopped altogether,

after checking everything i bumped it and it went , so i drove home and pulled the ignition barrel off, only to find that the barrels, are week and the conector at the end of the barrel breaks and stops it firing, ive also heard a few people on about this,

so just though you should check this out

on the ignition barrel, there should be a red wire a yellow wire and 2 black wires

if any of them are loose and not on the ignition, the car will not run

could be gasket, or ring, but normally engine has to be run to normal operating temp before compression test

but if you do a wet test, that will determin if its the ring

Right mate not got the tester now. Spent two days on it and no joy driving me mad now. Probably take it off the road ready for full engine and body rebuild

even with the compression down as low as that it should still fire on 3

it could be several things

e.g

cold start sensor

theremo time switch

vaf sensor

She is fixed. Had someone take a look there was something inside the dizzy knackered . Got one from scrappy runs fine but is really noisy.

Drop a bit of oil down thru the spark plug holes and put plugs back in, see if it will start, no 2 sounds low at 75psi, is it actually trying to fire up ? or just popping thru the exhaust ?
