Guest rs-steve Posted January 11, 2008 Share Posted January 11, 2008 hey all im gonna beat the car to a pulp very soon i fitted the new roof that i bought off eggsy which is tip top fitted it today and the bloody thing gets an inch from closing and thats it game over if i undo the rear tension cable it shuts perfect but i cant move the rear cable any further otherwise it wont fit at all any ideas as to why it wont shut properly thanks all in advance steve Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Guest ZER0-C00l Posted February 5, 2008 Share Posted February 5, 2008 ive just had the same problem. the vinyl shrinks if its not been on the car for a while. you need to heat up the vinyl with hot water, then really force the roof shut and keep it shut for a week at least so it can settle into place. I was ripping my hair out when this happened to me but after the hot water heated up the vinyl it gave me just enough stretch to close the roof. Hope the same works for you!
