Anyone know if the weather seals from another model, Ford or other manufacturer, is compatible or could be made to fit. For example I'm assuming that the seals from a 3 door would fit? is this right?

Can front door seal be cut down and made to fit the rear quarters?

Also anyone know where I can get the rubber seal that runs around the body edge where the hood fits.

The car has just come back from the body shop and now the slightly bubbling weather seals are letting her down, as is the seal as it feels like its shrunk and is pulling off the body work.

Im in Erith so anything local-ish is preferable. 

Im after having front and rear bumpers fitted as well as Morette twin headlights and possibly bonnet vents, so not necessarily normal work. 

Probably a silly question but can an electric hood be manually operated? Or converted to manual?

Thinking of buying one with a dodgy one.

I bought the clutch pedal from Burton Power who have them in stock, it is genuine Ford mk6 item. Part number 1029012 costs £32

If you can remove the whole pedal box it would be easier, I couldn't be bothered so did it via just unbolting the steering rack clamp (10mm bolt) and dashboard lower cover and taking the footwell lamp bulb to use as a torch. I did not remove the seat as some may do, I just lined up old sofa cushions and lay them outside the car with the door wide open.

I did experiment once the new pedal was on with different arrangements using the original clutch cable and a shorter one. Also used the black original mk5 quadrant and the newer improved angle white quadrant. Although with every other method, it ended up with the clutch pedal sitting to high. I had to cut 10 teeth of the ratchet to get a decent pedal position. Also don't forget to remember the setup of where the yellow plastic spring washers go right of the clutch pedal and left of the brake pedal, onto the pivot shaft.

Only part I am missing is the spring part number 7333648 which retails from Ford for £7.58 ex VAT I am not too sure where it attaches on the pedal system for the mk6. I guess it stops the pedal from being lifted upwards. As this is the only thing different now that I have upgraded to mk6.

So I have had my Mk4 Escort Cabriolet tucked away having bits and pieces done to get her looking great for the summer, but I have these awfully fitted white dash clocks which were there from the previous owner, which is now causing the needles to stick. I was wondering what is the best way to get the clocks out, so I can get rid of the white clocks and have the original black ones?

Will Mk 5/6 2 door 'tin top' side skirts fit like the RS2000 / GTI skirts?

How are these fitted? are they stuck on?

I'd like to put 17s on them, read quite a bit, so if I were to go for 205/35/17s and lower the car max 40mm (I see gmax springs are recommended), I should be able to avoid rubbing or finding noises of tyres against arches? I really want to avoid modifying the arches... Thanks

Has anyone tried a strut from the top of the windscreen to the centre of the roof pillar? Are these available to buy? Or has anyone done this DIY?

Mk6 1996 1.8

I have had a seller of ford seatbelts tell me you can and his kit comes with supporting bolts etc. I have also seen a picture on google of someone's rear bench with 3x3 and I have also seen a mod with a harness.

In my (amateur) mind I am thinking that if I can find an anchor point for the bolt over the shoulder that it should be reasonably straight forward, am I wrong?

i have got some angel head lights fitted to my cab and i am wanting to fit HID bulbs,

however on top of the headlight theres a sticker that says caution do not fit HID does any one know why?
