Hi people I need help to fit blacktop 2.0l mk2 engine into my mk6 cabbie escort as when all parts available which will be soon how much cost to help fit or to fit? have had bit of experience in previous projects Silvertop swap but this time more help or to do it at a cost? cheers gaz

To be honest, don't think it is worth it. If it were 10-20 years ago I could understand. You wouldn't find much people to do a conversion anymore, and you probably would be looking in excess of £1000k for a shop to do so.

Power gains now are nothing compared to most modern day cars. Not sure what engine you have, but a swap out for a 15 bhp gain and probably 0.5 second knocked off the 0-60mph isn't worth it imo.

Id say the above post is 100 percent correct unless its having a turbo etc added which again will cost a lot more ive had zetecs etc in the past in my mk3s and mk4s  but i prefer a fiesta turbo cvh , the power of modern day cars will be better but i just like the ease of working with a 1.6 engine and the space im left with under the bonnet

If you have a 1.6 zetec just now tho its worth the change over if you can get it cheap enough
