StuDaBear
Hi guys, not been on for ages and last time I was planning to replace my hood I blew my gearbox to bits so that put the hood on hold.Anyway I'm now planning on changing the hood again, my trimmer said the firm that normally supply him are no longer producing hoods for Escort mk3/4 so we need another option, he has fitted 1 or 2 from another supplier and he said they are always tight on one corner. So he said to do a bit of research on the hoods from Prestige. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-Escort-Cabriolet-MK3-4-Car-Hood-Hoods-Soft-Top-Tops-Black-Fabric-Mohair/122327635495?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 Cheers for any input, Stu. Himanshu
I see Fuzz Townsend from the Car SOS show use Aldrigde Trimmers in the Brimingham area. Last year they quoted me over £1000 for supply and fit Mohair. I contacted Ed China as to who they use as Mr China may fit the odd roof for TV airing but they must get the fabric from somewhere, but nerver got back to me. Ian71
Bought mine from car hood warehouse, had local guy fit it. Bought my white roof cover from prestige, cost a fortune, poor quality even came without the press studs, they said all cars have different stud positions (really) had to take to local guy to finish, no I would not buy again from prestige. StuDaBear
Thanks Ian, I did speak to them a few months ago and they quoted a ridiculous price to fit the hood.
Vincygav
Just looked at their prices and it seems very high compared to everyone else
StuDaBear
I don't mind paying for quality.
