lincolncity
Are any of you experts on Specs? My car is a March built 89' XR3i. It's Diamond White. I have been told it was sold as a Special Edition with half Leather seats, electrics as in windows and roof and heated front screen, it also has the lattice style cosworth alloys. The only Special Editions I can find don't appear to show the car as white. Is the car a special edition spec car and could you have bought one in white? The build plate on the slam panel just has an 'X' on it and says BA3 which I assume is diamond white? Anyone with any knowledge on these?
Ian71
What does it say on the logbook ? The half leather seats you have are not recaro so I don't think it was a tennis,it also has red stripes which says xr3i,of course over the years the car may have been altered. Mine is a tennis and it states escort cabriolet tennis on the logbook (v5) , hope this is some help to you. I would imagine the original owner had some of parts fitted as a optional extras when they ordered the car from new..
lincolncity
Hi Ian it just says XR3 INJ. Yeah I wondered if they were fitted as options, most probably so, I assume you could get half leathers then in 89' as an extra, and the wheels. I remember at the time there were some cars half way between 88" and 90' spec. I know it had 90 spec stickers as you could still see the outline of them on the wings and boot which is why I changed them back. It was built Mar 89' but registers Nov 89'. The build plate as I say just has an X on and BA3. The Build plate on my Capri is much more detailed. Are all XR3is 86'onwards like this?
