Electric Windows Letting The Side Down.

Quite fond of my Escort mk6 cab but just recently things beginning to fail and its well getting me down.

For instance drivers side electric Window not working. Pretty sure I've got power but nothing happening - I've decided to replace with new regulator and motor and try to fit myself.

Normally I jump straight on eBay for parts but before I do that.

Anybody recommend a supplier of parts that actually fit ?

Did you test it out with a voltmeter first? It could well be the switch

Like I said I've got power I can hear it. The window has been clunking up and down for months now it clunks without moving.

This has got to be a pretty common problem in a 20 year old escort don't really wanna buy second hand.

I appreciate any help in sourcing new parts even if they are copies.

Still looking ! My drivers door reg/motor is out !

I took a gamble and bought a so called Ford escort cabriolet 1995-2000 electric window regulator from Motorpartsworld.com even though it didn't look right. Checked it was correct for my car by email they assured me it was.

No it wasn't mate ! So I've chocked the window with wood so I can still use my car.

Talking with a few ford escort enthusiasts and they tell me Ford still supply mk6 regulator/motors but they are £200 plus mmmmmm let me have a think.....

Got my refund no problem hope they have taken the add down on there website !

Manage to track down a pair of regulators/motors from a guy in the Birmingham area (after weeks of trying) - bargain at £35 the pair + £10 delivery. Sure I was worried they wouldn't work but I didn't need to.

They work perfect, got my local auto electrician to fit them, £50 bargain in my opinion.

Very happy with my car now, McDonald's drive thru here I come
