The blower on my 1.6 Mk 4 cabbie works but doesnt blow warm/hot air out and temp guage stays on min. Top hose gets nice and warm as it should. Can someone suggest a list of things to check? (I have already had check thermostat suggested...)

thanks in advance

Another thing to check is that the cable from The temperature control knob is actually moving The flap on The heater box. I seem to remember these becoming uncliped. From memory it is on The lower part of The heater box near The clutch pedal and people with big feet knock them off! The gauge fault could just be a faulty sensor.

Ok. So I fitted a new thermostat (tested old one and it was locked open) and now I'm getting a little bit of heat into the cab. But now I'm getting overheating issues as the rad fan isn't kicking in. I've tested the thermal switch on the thermostat housing, bypassing it by running a wire out of and back into the connector. The fan still didn't work.

So else should I check? I think I've located the fuse (30amp) and relay, fuse looks ok but obviously can't tell if relay is working. Any suggestions?
