I have a escort rs turbo that's been sitting in my garage for the last 15 or more years 56000 on the clock full leather rs recaro blue interior yellow shock absorbers with adjustment knobs on the top back and front braking system I'm told is non standard girling braided trip computer leather steering wheel .

The reason it's been sitting so long is a very long story but I'll give you short run down.

My father bought it for me from a company called automanics who told him it was a special import from Spain or Germany 1of only 100 was not I treated just wanted to drive it and I did extremely powerful for the time and handeled much better than standard rs the second night of owning it it was stolen from the back of the house with no attempt to be quite about it anyway who ever stole it had keys we thought it was lost forever but a few weeks later the police said they have the car they told us it stolen by a gang who were to export it the thing is they ground the vin no off and tryed to put one over the top I was given back the car with the f registration and started to drive again but was pulled over by police again and again I explained what happen and they would let it go until one day they was not it the mood and confescated the car I evntually got it back but the q plated it so it stuck out even more so some days I would get pulled over so times three times in one day I loved driving it but it got to much so I parked it up and got a Volvo until thing calmed down its been sitting ever since.

What I would like to know is there any one out there who can tell me more about this car and it's real history did they really build 100 rs turbo cabriolets is there some where else on the car I can find the real ID this is the short version of the story if you any questions please ask

Some pictures would be a help if you could put some on. As far i am aware there were no turbo charged cars ever built, but some may have been done by small private companys before they were registered.i.e turbo technics, i could be wrong but think this is more than likely the case.

Sounds like most storys of the rs turbo cabriolets :>)

As ian said there were a few companys that done the conversion because it was an easy option if you realy wanted it

you look at how many turbo conversions there are now . most are done in the garage or drive

be interested to see some pics

Thank you for your reply and yes I will post pictures of not tomorrow on the weekend. It's very dusty and do not want to wash it in the garage fear of scratching it from what I remember the paint work was not standard but also not respray so pictures will not show the colour at its best I wrote it has been sitting 15 years but I think it may be more like 18 19 years it was not old at all.

Like I said that was the short version of the story it did come with documents detailing the build and special parts that were used but I was young and did not keep track of them as they were past from police station engineers reports etc before we get the car back then my farther past away and left me with two company's to run which the bank pulled out on me blar blar the paper work has gone missing . Is this vehicle worth the time and effort to retrace its documents and its ID and we're would I start. Or should I just pull it out get it running and just enjoy on the weekends after all it was a very big present from my father who also enjoyed driving it like he stole it pocket rocket

Back again so went into the garage pulled away the covers and started to take pictures very dirty but dry it's only been 16 years standing but when I went to pull the bonnet nothing pulled a few times and the orange trigger came off in my hand so this weekend I'll spend some time with it get the bonnet open and give it clean see if the roof still works .

So now how do I post these pictures give me a sec jnr
