I have recently purchased my XR3i Cabriolet which has come with rather annoying lowered Koni suspensions! although I know these probably weren't cheap in the first place, the ride is far to low and hard for the roads where I live and want to restore back to original XR3i Height, anyone know where I can get a full all round set of shocks/springs for the job? would happily swap whats on the car for a set of good sus.

Cheers

Jon

I'd try your local motor factors

am sure shocks & springs would still be available new

I purchased a load of old stock earlier this year from a local motor factors & it included new Mk4 front & rear shocks (not Genuine Ford but would do the job)

worth a check

Cheers guys, local factor had no luck sourcing, I've tried a few others, but no joy. I can get the shocks ok on fleabay but not the springs, and I'd need them to raise the ride height

I have standard Escort springs working together with Koni adjustable sport dampers. Wanted to try some modifications cos ride was too hard with H&R lowering springs.

This almost transformed the car. You can drive it fast on uneven roads comfortably with the tyres keeping their grip like glued to the ground. I have this modification done together

with 185/65/14 tyre size. A cabriolet type car which body is not as solid as a normal car with roof is more prone to vibration, knocks and rattles if suspension is too hard. Even xr3

original suspension gives quite hard driving experience. There are also more advantages using standard springs, ride height is good and there is much less noise coming through

the suspension. Off course if you think that the car must be low and close to the ground then you must sacrifice driving comfort, and also some off good handling I would say. Will put

in some pictures of my car so you can check how the ride height looks.
