Guest Glenn65 Posted April 10, 2016 Share Posted April 10, 2016 So here's the thing, I've fitted an aftermarket Cental locking kit, which works well. The only issue I have is the boot. The solenoid that came with the kit has a wire pull but I can't see any way of fitting it without destroying the boot lid, has anyone fitted a remote for the boot, and if so, any pics would be appreciated. I'm not sure if the mk4 had Cental locking if the mechanism is interchangeable? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Guest Glenn65 Posted April 13, 2016 Share Posted April 13, 2016 It's a bit crude at the mo, but it works a treat from the boot release button on the central locking remote. My intention is to keep the boot locked by the key, but the release still remotely unlocks it. The rod pushes the release mech, and the bent radio strap is holding it in line for now. Guest Glenn65 Posted April 23, 2016 Share Posted April 23, 2016 I have managed to get a quick video onto youtube. on the central locking kit I used, you have to hold the button for 3 seconds, but that's no biggy, as the range is great, and will avoid accidental opening.
