Hi, a month ago I didn't have a cabby and had been looking for quite a while for one. I bought one which is solid but Needed a few bits including a new roof. The car is a G reg one with a power good. I have got a donor car which has a mint blue (original roof) but is manual. How is the best way of taking the manual one off and putting it on the power one. Does the metal frame stay on the car . do I need to do anything to the manual roof when putting it on the power roof enabled car.

Any advice will be appreciated.

hi the frame goes on either way just take the fixings (what the ram slide onto) they will be 2 on the electric frame just put them on your manual frame (13mm nuts), the manual frame also has locking mechanisms under the rear speaker pods like a lever thing, just disconnect them. its then just a case of putting the wiring in hope this helps

Thank you.

That doesn't sound too bad. Will the roof come off ok and then go back on another car roof frame if it's removed off its frame.

I'm gonna attempt it Saturday. My car it's going into has a red roof and is water proof and is quite a respectable roof but the car really would look better with this black hood and to be fair the hood is in amazing condition seeing as it original with the original heated window screen.

Is there any no no's when doing this job.

Thanks in advance.

Rich.

Sorry I read your post wrong. Ie your saying take the whole roof off the manual one and then the whole roof off the other . change over the rods for the power element of the hood and then put the roof on the car with the pump.
