Guest Tee Morrison
She's always helping with something or other, she loves getting stucck in and getting her hands dirty. I know mate, I'm hopeful to get in for MOT in the next two weeks. Here's a list of what's left to do. Fit exhaust centre section and backbox. Fit handbrake cable. Bleed brake system. Fit drivers side doorcard and figure out why passenger window doesn't work. Fit new windscreen. Align headlights. Service. There are bodywork issues that I want to get sorted, nothing major. But that can be done once it's on the road. And that's about it. Couple of photos. Changed plugs, old and new. Wired up a new temperature sensor plug, or whatever its called. Random shot. I do love this car. And now I have a day off, the sun is shining, and I'm sat indoors waiting for Yodel to deliver an exhaust! I bet they don't show up till 5pm! Cheers, more up dates in the next couple of days.
Guest Tee Morrison
Well it's going to be interesting trying to fit this in the Mrs car to get it to my garage! But, not too bad for £47 delivered.
Guest Tee Morrison
Fitted new centre exhaust section and handbrake cable. They're both fitted properly now, I just keep forgetting to take photos of the work. Also painted the headlights to freshen them up. I'll be getting a lot more done this weekend, so a big update is on the way. Cheers for looking.

Guest Tee Morrison
tee, do you know if these are a 100% fit for my mk4 cab http://www.g-maxsuspension.com/index.php?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=649&category_id=59&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=1 I'm pretty sure they are mate, I ordered the 30mm drop version but I'm sure they were these. Don't hold me responsible if they're not though dude. Anymore progress or have you lost motivation like me Not much progress at the moment. I've been really busy with other things. Although I did manage to rip the handbrake cable off the car as I was pushing it back into the garage! The damn thing came loose, dropped down and caught a board on the floor! Made a right mess, but I've got it almost sorted. But, on a plus note. All I've got to do is fit the new windscreen, bleed the brakes, set the gear linkage up properly, sort out the play in the steering column (any ideas?) and it'll be ready for its MOT I think. No doubt there will be something else I've forgot about! I'll get some more photo's posted soon too.
Guest Tee Morrison
A few small updates, I always forget to take photos of the work when I get stuck in. Pulled the car out of the garage to find that it had pissed its coolant all over the garage floor! Ace. Turned out it was my fault as I hadn't tightened a hose up enough, so sorted that. Took the screen out and found a hole under the seal. So I managed to repair that and get the new screen fitted. Fitted new handbrake cables and bled the brakes. Forgot to take photos as usual! Got a wing mirror from maido as my drivers side one was buggered. Swapped them over, and fitted it. Electric mirrors work perfectly now. A couple of random car shots. All I'm waiting on now is a new fan switch to show up and then the old girl is finally ready for her MOT! I'm heading to the garage later to give everything the once over to check everything's tight, etc. But all being well, she'll be in for her test in the next few weeks. I'll get some more good quality photos later. Cheers. Edited June 29, 2015 by Tee Morrison
Guest Tee Morrison
Any help on setting gears up after fitting new shifter and linkage? The damn thing is driving me crazy.
gingergman
Put it in fourth position then connect it to the box, or reverse position, gives a good start on it. Best with two people so one can tweak it from underneath
Guest Tee Morrison
Got it sorted mate. Cheers for your help though. A bit awkward as I was on my own. But, left it in neutral, went underneath and undone the 13mm bolt. Then used a screwdriver to turn the selector rod on the gearbox clockwise and put it in reverse. Then got in the car and wedged the shifter in reverse, went back under and tightened everything up. Got back in and boom, finds every gear! Super happy as now all I need is the fan switch, and put the arch liners back in and it'll be off for the MOT.

Guest Tee Morrison
Warning: Picture heavy. Well, it's been a long 17 months work on this. And despite losing faith and being close to giving up on numerous occasions the old girl is finally ready for her MOT. Going to get booked in in the next couple of weeks to get the alignment done at the same time as the front wheels are slightly 10 to 2. The headlights need aligning too, but that can be done at the MOT. I'm super happy that I've managed to do all the work myself, despite having precisely zero experience of working on any sort of car before this one. Here are some photos of how it's looking now. It does need a proper wash too, but forgive that. And that's where I am for now, although I am kind of thinking of putting 10mm spacers front and rear, and there will be a stud and nut conversion done after the MOt. Cheers for looking.
