Well i didnt remove the trim completey buts its there :banana_dance:

Its a white marker on mine and using the vin checker it was built the end of march 1990....this now really opens things up and if this can be proved it hopefully will not only have a age related plate but its ID back!!

I think proof from the club should suffice as its states this in the buying guide....the b pillar on these is bacially the rool bar in my eyes?

Cheers for this Taz

Hi taz,

Sorry about not getting on here but our village internet is down...pain in the backside.

Also my phones network will not allow the content of this site to connect with vodaphone.

Anyway I've just managed to finally squeeze on for a brief spell.

Good look with that and I'll pop you my number over in a bit.

Texting will be easier ATM

Cheers

well its been a while and as I've had no word from them have kept phoning to see where they were up to well today I got a bit further but not a outcome as of yet

they received paperwork on the 4th Feb 2014

I rang up on 26th Feb 2014 to be told they hadn't finished looking at it and was searching archives to ring back on the 4th march

I rang back today 6th march 2014 to be put through to a higher department to be told its with the policy department ( guys who make the decisions )

now after speaking to the guy on phone who said reading whats been put on system etc he said they couldn't see numbers on pics I sent so went back out with camera (first lot taken on phone) and took some more pics

as I had got his direct department number I rang him back stating I had taken some more detailed photos of number etc and was there an email I could send it too he gave me a email and I've resent all original pics and the new pics over to them now

as my thought was if I send them in digital form they can them see them #1 clearer #2 expand them if needed

so hopefully have a decision very soon as to weather or not I can get a age related plate back on vehicle ??

Hi folks,

Mad bit of synchronicity here, have just bought my wife a mk5 1.4 dash, has come from a friend of mines dads collection of classic fords after he sadly passed away last year. Decided having bought it blind id join the relevant forum as there's bound to be a wealth of knowledge that'll be invaluable running an old ford! this was the top topic I saw as I completed the registration!

the car i have bought is also on a q plate, I spoke to Dvla and they said even though ford only produced that model from 91-92 it wasn't registered until 1998 so was put on the q plate. Will there be any similar numbers on a mk5 to help me get it back to age related?

Sounds like its a bit of a pain to do but given this one has spent the last 12 years in a heated garage standing on Wilton carpet having had no welding and not a spot of rust on it that's the last thing to have a quiet quirky show car, and I'd like that!

Looks like you've done loads of research and legwork to get yourself to this stage so ill keep my fingers crossed they'll do it for you!

Any advise great fully received

Thanks

Paul
