Admin Ollie Posted May 29, 2012 Admin Share Posted May 29, 2012 fitted g max springs to the mk3 and had no issues with them to be honest think it depends on what height you go for aswell had full koni set up fitted to mk4 cab they were ok regards ollie
Guest Kelly Jeffery
standard shocks are only good for a 25/30mm drop after that you want uprated shocks or the ride will be poor
Guest Milkey
I had 60mm PI springs and standard shocks on an EG Civic and they were fine (Despite what the reviews I had read on forums had suggested) The ride was good and I was well impressed with the drop.. Guest Kelly Jeffery
yeah but some think that their car handles well with cut springs and old standard shocks lol that's just a matter of opinion, fact is no proper company would advise using miss matched stuff for good reason and with a big drop the geometry would be all over too. uprated ones aren't just harder some will have shorter rods to account for the height difference. mine had gmax shocks and standard new springs when I got it
Guest Milkey
Nah I'm not the type to go hacking up springs and doing bodge jobs, The handling of the car hardly changed to be honest, it just gave a good drop. Any company will tell you to use all their parts obviously, they want your money. Having said that, if you have the money to spend then yeah, get the uprated shocks aswell but unless your planning to use the car for track or drive it hard regularly I don't see any problem with using lowering springs on standard shocks.
