Admin Paul Posted February 11, 2010 Admin Share Posted February 11, 2010 Name: European Ford Event 2010 Summary: Holland Ticket Cost: £100.00 Start Date: 11 September 2010 - 03:00 AM End Date: 15 September 2010 - 06:00 PM Please note the £100 is a deposit only to ensure numbers. Sunday 12-09-2010 Now in its 18th year, this years European Ford Event promises to be bigger and better than ever. The Ford XR/RS club of Holland will once again be holding their biggest European Ford Event of the mainland. After several successful years at Baarlo Speedway Track, and at Sevenum, both near Venlo, the show moved south in 1999-2009 to the large Sports Stadium at Landgraaf. Now we are moving to the mittle of the Netherlands Adress: FlevOnice Strandgaperweg 20 8256 PZ BIDDINGHUIZEN The Show it self: There is usually an attendance of 2000 vehicles, with Ford clubs from all over Europe, it's an opportunity to see all the stuff you have never seen before. RS2600's, 2-door Sierra XR, Taunus, German Spec RS1600i's, etc, etc. Dutch insurance rules allow any modification at no extra cost, so they are into customizing / modifications and tuning in a big way. UK Fords have taken many of the honors in the concours, so if you have a tidy motor, get it entered. They prefer totally original, even with the odd scratch, rather than mint but restored. And you don't need the RSOC logbook. The Ford XR/RS club traditionally run sprint & slalom events down the track all day. Anyone can participate. Especially the sprint-races are favoured by all Ford-fans and are a guarantee for a lot of spectacle and quite a few embarrased drivers! Pets are not allowed With the meeting being a 1-day event, the Saturday is normally "Nurburgring-Day" for the RSOC-members who come over to Holland for the weekend. This legendary circuit (over 14 miles long) is a 3,5 hour drive from FlevOnice, 247 km away. Route FlevOnice – Nurburgring Entrance for the European Ford Event: €12,= with an orginal flyer you can get a discount you are paying the amount of € 10,- NOTE: only original flyers entitled to give discounts, be requested via email to our Editorial (from 15 pieces) If you are looking for a hotel, we can advise you some good places: 1) Dorhout Mees Strandgaperweg 30 8256 PZ Biddinghuizen Tel: +31 (0)321 – 33 11 38 www.dorhoutmees.nl Just minutes off the event area, just on the doorstep! Admin Paul Posted March 22, 2010 Author Admin Share Posted March 22, 2010 DRIVING IN EUROPE - WHAT DO YOU NEED? Most of us are familiar with legal requirements for driving in the UK, however when travelling abroad there are legal requirements regarding certain items that must be carried within the vehicle. The requirements vary country to country, however below is a list of requirements that you should fully consider before setting off on your journey. When driving in France and Spain, drivers are required to carry :- Spare Bulbs GB sticker or GB Euroflag Number Plate High Visibility Jacket (1 for each person travelling in the car in Spain and in France two are recommended) Headlamp Converters Warning Triangle In addition it is recommended that you consider carrying a First Aid Kit and a Fire Extinguisher. When driving in Belgium and Italy, drivers are required to carry :- GB sticker or GB Euroflag Number Plate High Visibility Jacket Headlamp Converters Warning Triangle In addition it is recommended that you consider carrying Spare Bulbs,a First Aid Kit and a Fire Extinguisher. When driving in Austria, drivers are required to carry :- GB sticker or GB Euroflag Number Plate High Visibility Jacket Headlamp Converters Warning Triangle First Aid Kit In addition it is recommended that you consider carrying Spare Bulbs, and a Fire Extinguisher. When driving in Switzerland, drivers are required to carry :- GB sticker or GB Euroflag Number Plate Headlamp Converters Warning Triangle In addition it is recommended that you consider carrying Spare Bulbs, High Visibility Jackets, a First Aid Kit and a Fire Extinguisher. When driving in Germany and the Netherlands, drivers are required to carry :- GB sticker or GB Euroflag Number Plate Headlamp Converters In addition it is recommended that you consider carrying Spare Bulbs, High Visibility Jackets, a First Aid Kit and a Fire Extinguisher. When driving in Poland, drivers are required to carry :- GB sticker or GB Euroflag Number Plate Headlamp Converters Warning Triangle In addition it is recommended that you consider carrying Spare Bulbs, High Visibility Jackets, a First Aid Kit and a Fire Extinguisher. There are of course many other useful items you may wish to consider for your safety, comfort and convenience. Here is list to help you on your way. Tow Rope * Jump Leads Additional High Visibility Jackets for the rest of your family * Glass Hammer * Disposable camera in case you need to record accident damage Note pad and pen in case you need to record accident damage Disposable gloves for those dirty jobs like changing a wheel Tyre foot pump Ice scraper European Road Atlas Blanket * Items stocked by Consumabulbs British motorists are not legally obliged to carry such products when in the UK, but it may be worth considering their safety benefits and potential power to help with car insurance claims. According to statistics compiled by Icu-ucme.com, which sells high-visibility vests, someone wearing a fluorescent jacket is likely to be seen by a motorist three seconds sooner in the dark than someone who is not. At 30mph, this is a distance of 42 metres. Naturally it is impossible to provide a comprehensive list of every European country, however this information is provided in good faith and we hope of use to you.
