Guest Alex48
hey all, i'm not actually a new user i've just forgotten my username/password i think my user used to be alex-r but not too sure.. anyway, i still have the RS T Cabby, unfortunately the fuel pump went a couple of months ago, been sorted a while but in the time it took to fix i managed to loose the keys, i have 2 spares for the doors and boot, but have lost the filler cap and ignition keys. i've seen a cheap lockable fuel cap with keys on ebay for under a tenner and i've sourced an ignition barrel nearby too! what i was wanting to know is, what can i do about the steering lock? i've never done this sort of this before so i'd love to have a heads up before starting, any help would be great, cheers guys! gingergman
im not too sure but if you replace the barrel as your doing, wont it just unlock when you use the new key as you would the old? cos if it diddnt then you would always have the problem? LeeMcCarthy
yeah im sure its just the barrel that locks the steering so you should have no problem

Guest shaun
Hi Alex you might find the ignition lock has to be turned to pos 1 and on top of ingnition casing there is a hole you have to push something thin down to push pin in to release ignition barrel...other than that you need the casing as well....hope this helps

Guest shaun
you have to take all the ignition case off and swap it....as for fuel cap either drill in to it and turn with screw driver or just bang a screw driver into it as all scumbags do when the nick them...hope this helps Edited February 10, 2010 by shaun

Guest Alex48
one more thing while i'm on, i need to get the car on the axel stands again tommorow to finnish off the fuel pump properly, quite a while before it went, in hot weather if the tank was pretty full the fuel seemed to treackle out of the filler cap and every time i'd fill it up with petrol it would gurgle and spit it back out unless done really slowly. can't see any breather tubes or anything that could get blocked, any ideas? thanks again guys
Guest Alex48
well she runs now, had a sneakyspin around the estate, need to do the rocker gasket as it spits oil when it boosts. any ideas on that fuel problem or should i make a proper thread on it? done it earlier after sorting the new pump out, spat a load of petrol back out
