hey tacha maree,

i know on most models wether its factory fitted or not, the pump, 2 relays, fuse and thermal cut out should all be in the boot(on the left hand side behind rear arch)as for the hydraulic rams, these will need the rear inner panels removed to check, pipes from wich will run to the pump (in boot). most models will have a switch (like electric window switch) down by the left of the gear stick, but sometimes could be fitted randomly on dash. hope this helps.

thanks for that ill have a check. just seems strange for someone to have a brand spanking new power hood and frame only to use it as a manual...it weighs a tonn... nearly had my fingers off the rate it fell back.

i havent seen anay switches but i know hes replaced the consol and there isnt a switch for the electric mirrors anywhere either

well ill have a good old look in abit.

thank you for your help

  • 3 weeks later...

For the roof switch check where the 4 way speaker button is mines there

If the hood is mohair chances are its been used as a replacement as its a lot easier to replace the hood and frame (in one bit) as opposed to trying to fit a hood to the frame.

Good news is that if its not already electric you've got a fine excuse to make it so!!

Its not a difficult job so good luck.

Then again if you had good luck you'll find the pump in the boot!!!

How do you know the car has electric mirrors if you cant find the switch ? try looking on the right hand side of the dash behind the washer stalk,

the electric hood switch should be between the gearlever and handbrake.
