Guest Dojomaster1984
Hi I want the highest amp alternator that i can get onto my MK3 XR3i 1.6 CVH Cabby. I am willing to pay £400+ for it. Looking around I can really only find places in America that can get me a good one that i can use for road use. But I would like to keep the money in England if i can. Plus if anything goes astray then i can get help quickly. Any Suggestions and other peoples setup welcome as i am looking to put 4 15" kickers in there. Guest sjc
good luck, I got one 15" kicker and amp in my boot, thats almost all the space gone, my box is just above the minimum sealed enclosure box capacity....no back seats for you lol....mind you it sounds so much better with the back seat down....your gonna need loads of amplification. I would seriously check your box dimensions, and ensure you are happy with sealed enclosure bass boxes, as Im fairly certain you will struggle with anything other type, before embarking on such an expensive route. Also I would be very surprised if you have enough room in the standard alternator frame for the winding ratios needed to keep that lot all going, but then you never know with modern stuff...may be good to find out minimum frame size you can squeeze that amount of power from and see if you can mount it. Oh and if you have any rattles on your car once you start moving large amounts of air about it will drive you mad, beleive me lol
Guest Dojomaster1984
Yeah i am going to try and get four in there but I think that two would be a more suitable amount for a cabby to have as four is the realms of the 4X4 and trucks. But hay i AM CRAZY. I was looking at getting rid of the spare wheel space, boxing it all up and planting the extra gel batteries there so i have space for the box above it. Then having the amps and capacitors etc behind the front seats. Cutting into the parcel shelf for some room and having tiltiing seats so i can get to it all. I was tempted to get the MTX Jackhammer True 22. Asked around afew USA dealers and it was all good. Until i thought about where i live and the angel told me not to buy it. So Kickers and the Clifford 5.5 and afew other securities i have done and the cctv i have, should keep it all safe in the garage i hope.
Guest Dojomaster1984
I think I was looking at a £10,000 bill to use the Jackhammer. So to put that in the area i live means STOLEN AFTER THE FIRST OUTING. One test of the system all the tom, dicks and harrys would be waiting in line to have a crack at taking the car . So a more popular systems seems to be the way to bring down the STOLEN FACTOR.
