Sjones4566
Im currently running a b reg 1.6i in rosso red 92k miles , totally original , except for the sportex exhaust fitted by the previous owner , had been asleep in his garage for seven years, the owner was emigrating , so he took her for an MOT, first time she failed on tyres perished, stuck calipers, and horn not working. I bought her in july with 12 months ticket,4 new goodyear eagle nct tyres and new calipers, and horn now working. My rolling resto , already a few new ford parts fitted ! I also have recently bought another mk3 1.6 (carb) also in rosso red, only 65k miles , ive checked this out at and its correct. last on the road in 2014 (No MOT) at present, need to sort out the carb , ignition system , tune up etc, Before i take this for MOT, Edited December 15, 2016 by Sjones4566

Igore
Hi all, First post and I have yet to figure out how to attach a photo file. I have a 1984 XR3i Cabriolet which I purchased new from Taw Motors in Barnstaple while posted in the UK from New Zealand. Shipped it back to NZ in 1986 and it has been used continuously except for about six years while again overseas. Have done 98,000 Km and still in original condition with no rust. Have kept a log of every trip and work or servicing undertaken. Still all original but for a stainless exhaust system soon after I returned to NZ. Has been a reliable runner but for one broken cam belt. A recent development seems to be a failed electric fuel pump after a 100Km day out with the roof down, but I have yet to fully confirm that (a squeaky sound from the vicinity of fuel tank while stopped, accompanied by rough running and then stopped). Lots of interesting projects on the site. Cheers Ian Gore
