I have a 1.6i cabriolet 1985 but I am trying to find out if it used to be an XR3i or just a 1.6i cab. It has been made to look like an RS turbo by the previous owners and I think the body kit has been added. I want to restore it back to it's original look but need to know what that was before I start pulling of all the stripes etc. Is there any way of telling? On the Log Book it just says 1.6i. Dave.Wilson Posted September 20, 2013 Share Posted September 20, 2013 I don't think any MK3 cabbies came with body kits... and if I'm right (correct me if I'm wrong) but the only differences between a 1.6i and an XR3i were either steels or alloy wheels and possibly over riders... and really early MK3's wouldn't have been injection anyway I think. So if you want to get it back to original, lose the bodykit and decals and fit cloverleafs to it... that's about as far as my knowledge goes, and I could be wrong.
