As long as it does not overheat, I think it should be ok. On the mk5 RS2000. I know many of them also run on the hot side, some got around this by changing the thermostat and fan switch to the Escort RS Cosworth ones that would bring it down to the middle of the gauge.

Get yourself a Haynes manual, it has all the diagrams at the back of it.
-
I cannot work it out form the pic, looks like a APS system to warm the exhaust up for cat converter or something. Are you sure it is overheating though?
-
I cannot remember, I have to check it up, I believe they are the same
-
It is not hard, just time consuming, hence why Ed said it is best left to a specialist. In his earlier days he would have done this. Although part of the reason he left wheeler dealrs was due to the time he was taking to do jobs.

You can see it on a Ford TIS download -
Here is more info, I think your car may be Garnet Red. Understanding the VIN plate to decode info https://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/vin.htm https://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/vinno.htm https://www.fordscorpio.co.uk/images/vin.gif Ford paint codes Ford Escort paint code colours with paint chips https://www.paintcolourchart.com/cars/027/escort.html

Italian tune up, lol I would say make sure lambda (oxygen) sensor is ok, catalyst converter working well, and car in a good state. Recent or new air filter, plugs
-
You can see the location of the code here https://www.carcolourservices.co.uk/images/pdf/color-code/ford.pdf Alternatively you can put your registration in FORD ETIS and it would tell you the colour of the car https://www.etis.ford.com/vehicleRegSelector.do

I think you have the wrong bit. What is the main colour
-
It should, if they are both 5 speed. The only other 5 speed was the MTX75 with lift up reverse on the lever. That would be on some 1.8 zetec (the 130 bhp model) and the 2.0 RS2000
-
It is on the VIN plate under bonnet. Usually 2 or 3 characters
-
Looks like that would have to be done by a specialist as on Wheeler Dealers, unless you want a try at doing it yourself with a can of spray adhesive.
-
Starter motor?
-
Does the pump make any noise when operated? If yes then the cogs inside is broken (sheared off) There is usually a roof repair set on ebay
-
If genuine ford check the part numbers on them. That would show you where it goes if you put it in google
-
Looks like someone has changed it. If you have electric mirrors, the nearside should have no control whatsoever and it is just a flat panel. The drivers side has the stalk control. You can twist it around, middle position is neutral, turn to left controls left mirror, turn to right controls right mirror.
-
Clock removal is easy, two flat blade screwdrivers at the edge of the unit and lever it out. Check the fuse for the mirrors, or the power is also going to the switch
-
You can try contacting DVLA, if you give them the reason they would put you in contact with the current owner.
