  1. Should I just sell my car for scrap (especially taking into account being unable to source the spare part)? Some people advise me to hold onto it for a few years thinking it will be worth a bit when it becomes a fully fledged classic, others tell me to just scrap it. It's body work is decent enough with just 1 area of rust on the drivers door and a small area on the bumper is missing the blue colour of the car after someone parked it badly hitting into a high kerb. A number of things no longer work (the heater must be set to either on or off permanently), there's a warning light that has been consistently on for about 13 years now, the back panel to the drivers seat has broken off but I still have the panel, the convertible fabric roof has stains, the boot has a slight leak, a spare tyre is needed) That is all I can think of that is wrong with it. The MOT is until May 2022. Reg is P769REV if you are able or interested to look up more statistics about it. I've owned this car for 13 years and can honestly say, hand on heart, it has only broken down on me once. This is why I'm so reluctant to sell it for scrap cos it has always run so very well for me and has served me well. Is it worth keeping or not, do you think? Thank you
  2. I've spent about 10hrs searching on line for the part Ford's no longer supply (1033837). I feel I have contacted every single company but no one has this part. Any suggestions where else I might look or better still, if you have one for sale that would be AMAZING!!! Please call me 07837062471 if you do have one to sell as I need to get one urgently, thank you. The car VIN: WF0LXXGKALVB97931. Even if I could just borrow one for a day, that would work. I need to get my car out of London now the ULEZ has extended and move it to Southend where it will be SORNed.
  3. Hello, Yesterday I posted this question but I've just come across your comment from 10 years ago, do you think the same would work for me? Thank you. Transmission Fluid for Electric Roof no longer exists, what can I use instead? Kim Booth posted a topic in Roof Problems I have a 1987 Escort Cabriolet Ghia which needs me top up the transmission fluid for the electric roof to operate. The manual tells me I need to use part number 1661100 however that part number no longer exists, and Ford's parts department cannot suggest any other fluid I can use instead. Does anyone have any idea what I can use instead? Sorry this is the 2nd time for me to post this question but I cannot find my original question on ths site... 17 hours ago
