Hi all I've recently brought my escort back to life after being a non runner for years (bought it recently as a project) but even though the car starts fine now after a new fuel pump, touching the accelerator even slightly stalls the engine. Engine restarts fine though, is it possible it's just a lot of crap in the fuel/air system causing this? Thanks in advance

Thanks for the reply, believe it or not the multi plug looks almost brand new still. Will try to escape to the garage to check the voltages though, I'm hoping it's something stupid that I've missed

Hi all, I recently bought a non runner R reg cabriolet and long story short traced it to the fuel pump being faulty (couldn't hear the pump prime when turning the ignition on) I replaced this and got it running again, but a month or so after not touching it I've gone to turn over and the same problem has returned! I've tried swapping the brown relays about which hasn't helped, and also the immobiliser is fine as the red light by the clock illuminates for a few seconds and goes off. surely the fuel pump hasnt gone? Any common problems with regards to this? It's a 1.6 1997 model. Thanks in advance
