Some times the tap on the pump is left open this may of been opened by the previous owner or may be low on fluid the pump is in the left hand side of the boot as a full and minimum mark if it was easyish to move roof manually chances are the tap is open some people do this as they don't know what fluid to use good luck mark

Finally got my back side in to gear and just ordered my ford fair ticket so a few little jobs left and she's ready to show a few times I have said I will show her but never have so now is the time

Unfortanlly no but very easy to explain and I would help any one that needed it and any one would be welcome to look at mine for reference

Oh yes well worth it would recommend to any one little bit of paint work remote central locking kit left to do then I can show her at ford fair will be ordering my ticket v soon

After approx 16 hours work I now have a power roof which looks like it was fitted by ford this includes time traveling to doner vehicle 4 hours removing every thing from doner vehicle and fitting it to my own vehicle and a couple of trim repairs my advice to any one thinking of doing this conversion is to remove it from a doner vehicle your self u know how it fits and u know you have every thing required

I work in a body shop so I had her put on the ramps and checked and tracked was told tracking was a fair bit out was also told all standard underneath and good looks like last owner spent a fair bit underneath so looks like what i said is right she is being compared to new fords i execpt her for what she is thanx for the reply though mark

I have mk5 1.6 zetec l reg and a few people have Said the ride is hard and trashy and you feel every shock wave I think they are comparing her to new fords is there any ideas of what this could be or does it sound up to spec is there any one in the Stevenage or Great Yarmouth area who will let me compare mine to there's so I can be sure thanx mark

Sorted one electric problem now have another every time you put the ignition on the cooling van comes on but with the engine running it is not on it is now causing the battery to go flat any ideas thanx mark

Have good look on auto trader were they are advertised for a set time and price like the last guy I brought mine of ebay and spent a fair bit on it to things with ebay one u end up in a biding war and pay more than its worth and two one persons beautfifull condition can be another persons awe full condition it's a matter of opinion I have had a many a wasted journey like this good luck and don't buy the 1.4

The guy with the p reg green mk6 as inspired us to hopefully show ours in the future was just never sure how to go about it was surprised I didn't see any mk5 cabbies all day apart from our own in the main car park next show classic ford Santa pod bring it on

Problem sorted the fuel line was constantly live resoldered fuse box so fingers crossed all ok every thing adds up all ok on the meter no more power drain

The light it selfs works just not on the 20 second delay time or when door open checked door switches fuses ,relays and had the fuse box out and resolded every thing on some body else's recommendations and still not working any ideas please thanx mark

I will give this a go but don't think they will be much help needed a fuel line recently and they was useless that's despite me and my brother both owning brand new fords from the said dealer but thanx for your advice

Brought a genuine ford key blank for my mk 5 and no one wants to cut it does nt have a chip but does have the torch I hate the pattern after market one had one cut as a spare at timpsons and that does nt even work any way , I live in Stevenage any ideas gratefully received thanx mark

After a day or 2 my mk 5 won't start have checked the stater with a meter ,glove Box light, boot light ,took out the stereo,replaced the battery when last reconnected battery slight spark at terminal which confirmed Power drain and a clicking of a relay in drivers foot well does not go totally flat as bump starts very easily hope some one can help as its driving me nuts ps it as a after market Imoblisor which a few a people blame but why would this only just start to cause a problem don't know make as already fitted to car when u purchased thanx mark

Thanx good tip don't fancy buying a new one as have just thrown a lot of money at my cabbie good old ebay just got an obsolete fuel from ebay myself

hi i have a mk5 cabbie which is fitted with a 1.6 16 v zetec lump and it requires the following fuel line it is made from plastic and has built in quick release connections and goes from the engine to the fuel filter at the fuel filter end it has a pig tail ford have told me it is no longer available i know i could use a rubber hose with connections but this is a last resort as it seems a bit bodgey any help in locateing one would be gratley recieved the quick release conection is broke on mine i live in stevenage
