  1. Pablo same here. My Engine is in the bin at the moment. Just building another one gathering parts yet again. A Word of warning to everyone. Never ever let anyone bead/glass blast or media blast your engine. You can never get the media out, it embeds itself into the metal and slowly but surely releases and slowly destroys every single internal part of your engine. Only part i have managed to salvage is Conrods. I had a little sulk about it but now it's onwards and upwards. Determined to make ford fest and run my engine in down the strip haha.

  4. compression test is the first thing before throwing loads of time and money on it.
  5. I believe there is, remove the door card and if I remember rightly there are I think 3 - 10mm nuts or bolts, loosen these and have a play around, there is definitely adjustment just cannot remember how I did mine
  6. jayrscabby is right, leaking cvh drive shaft leaks usually mean worn diff bearings
  7. Efi engine does not have a distributer, it has a coil pack. Mfi has a distributer

A very big thank you for everyone making us feel so welcome at our first ever event as a member, we only just managed to get the cabby engine built in time, it was actually on the workbench in pieces on the Monday morning and by Saturday making its way from hull to Silverstone (160 miles) I really though we was not going to make it without a tow. Also a very big thank you for the lads camping on the sunday night for a warm welcome and also I had the best laugh I have had for a long time, if all the shows are like this count me in. great day with great people and cars. All finished and mot'd just needs setting up on the rolling road and its ready for the summer. thinking of a flocked dash and door handles and maybe fitting a 3/4 spoke sporty ford steering wheel as the standard one I think is rubbish. apart from that pretty happy with it at the min. any views or comments are welcome Thanks
  11. I have also had lots and lots of parts powder coated as there is a great guy just round the corner from me who does it cheap and a good job.
  12. Yes it's running but only on basemap. Spec erm where to begin lol. Mondeo 2.0 engine, calibra c20let pistons rebored to 2.1 think it was 86mm if I remember rightly. H section conrods. New mains big ends stronger valve springs ported head etc. rover 800t inlet manifold with cosworth green injectors cosworth throttle body big inter cooler. Omex Ecu T3 t24 hybrid turbo Powder coated gearbox strengthened with bigger bearing and quafe diff fitted. Paddle clutch Escort mk5 adjustable clutch pedal Power steering conversion Read disc conversion. There's lots of mods it's took me years and I have had 4 cabriolets so just collected and done stuff along the way. The underneath has been sprayed with upol raptor which is what they spray truck beds with. (My mates idea and he sprayed it for me) I'm the oily guy and don't and can't do bodywork lol.
  13. It's hard to believe that they can actually sell headlights that will not pass mot. What sort of quality control do they have?
  14. Thanks for all the positive comments it all makes the hard work seem worthwhile. And yes I am meaning to attend a few shows this year so will look out for some headlights there.
  15. Just took it for mot last week. Failed on 2 front wheel bearings and also headlight beams. I replaced the headlights for new ones off eBay just so they was new as the old ones were rusty. Unfortunately they are cheap Chinese c##p and don't have any sort of pattern. Maybe someone could let me know where to get a set of genuine ones cheap enough either new or very good?

  17. i have a mk4 escort cabby which has the s2 rs turbo engine fitted i have done mods to it but now i need the boost turning up so need a chip for the ecu the cheapest and easiest way of doing this i found is to replace the ecu for a chipped one these are easily obtainable off ebay but non have my code BLUE RED WHITE i have heard these can be interchanged but there is some complication between if they have a knock sensor or not my wiring loom does have an knock sensor plug but the engine does not have a knock sensor so its not plugged into anything so what i was wondering is what if any ecu i can use on my engine? Thanks

  19. from what i have been told there is no way of mapping mfi system also the turbo was already on the car when i bought it also got a bigger cooler. previouse owner spent £1000s on it. I think the ecu must be chipped already as it boosts up to 1.5 bar I guess putting it on a rolling road would tell me whats going on but i thought there was no way to adjust anything on the mfi system apart from the mixture?
  20. yes i would like to have it on a rolling road but there is non near where i live (HULL) that i know about. there was one (pioneer) but he no longer has a rolling road. i am fine with the power its putting out now its the pistons i am worried about with not enough fuel
  21. ok so got my 2.1 zvh up and running took it for a test drive and it is perfect actually idles better and runs better than cvh bottom end and its got tons of oil pressure compared to cvh it is running a stage 2 hybrid turbo the question i need answering is that is the mfi going to give it enough fuel on boost? i am not after silly bhp numbers i just want it to be reliable i have looked into 5th injectors and wide lamda sensor kits but i really am on a budget and as the engine is running so sweet i do not really want to start tinkering too much if possible it has c20xe pistons and do not want to melt them as it took a lot of machining to get then to fit. Anyone running a zvh on mfi? if so how long and had any troubles? Thanks
  22. is there a different lock that can be fitted to a mk4 cabby that can be used to pop the boot lid via clifford remote or boot pop switch? the reason being is that i have a clifford alarm and can wire the boot pop up to the boot and i dont have to use the key to open it all the time also its easy to forget to lock it as the car has central locking on the doors. wiring it up is not a problem as i can do this i just wondered what other people have done as there is a lot of delocked boots out there so must of been done a number of times my boot is not delocked but makes no difference. any help would be very much appreciated. and any photos very welcome Thanks
