hi all, I think that my heater matrix or fan blower are done in as there is a fausty type of warm smell coming out of the unit and it doesn't blow cold, not even slightly cold

I was about to buy the motor and matrix and wondered if it is possible to upgrade to air con?

if anyone knows if this is possible please let me know and also how to do it

cheers

Hi tony

Have fun i hate changing heater matrix,s youll prob find i t easier to take the whole dash out rather than drop it down from underneath.

As for air con ive always wondered that but never heard of anyone doing it

yeah I though that the dash out 1st would be the best bet, to be honest I can live without it for a while, I worked out that I have spent £800 on her already! oops! But very intrigued about the air con upgrade as if I'm getting the whole thing out I may as well upgrade if possible

the car cost me £900 so at present she owes me £1700 - doesn't matter though as I'm not selling of course. everything is running fine with the new clutch but there is a slapping/banging noise every so often if the car jerks away from a start, I imagine its an exhaust bracket or something. If I drive sensibly the noise doesn't happen.

definitely interested in the details of a possible aircon upgrade. It might be that I can swap out the current components for air con ones and alter the box to make it fit. might need some investigation. The other factor is whether the new bits would overload the electrical system as its clearly not designed to take after market air con upgrades!
