Guest John Posted November 9, 2010 Share Posted November 9, 2010 just getting as much pre work done as poss myself. heard of a welder been donated to the cause ( a guy a know has been given a welder free to good home as there is a group of 10 of us up ere been mates for years have mk1,2 &4 escorts) so once thats been picked up n checked over. I'm taking delivery & my brother in law is the welder at his garage is coming to do a bit. prob after xmas. no rush but am getting inpatient beens im only doig a couple of hrs a week if im lucky & making good progress. Guest John Posted January 8, 2011 Share Posted January 8, 2011 well its been a while but work has been slow due to hols in canada & family death but today i finished work & no rain so the all white came out of the garage. Game on time for some graft on project Got the new welder working a treat got 1 more bit to do on passengerside then i'll get some blue paint on before wing goes on. then remove driverswing paint put new wing on back on her wheels and turn her round to get stuck into the back end. Guest John Posted February 2, 2011 Share Posted February 2, 2011 had a couple of hrs last nite needed tomake up part of the inner rear wheel tub so to try & cut a nice flowing curve i cut off the wheel arch of the front wing still to be removed. dressed it back to bare metal get some heat in it as to bend it a wee bit better & hey presto it worked got it welded up may go for the filler cap this weekend if weathers nice. also got the front primed stonechipped then primer again. Anyhow rain stopped today so got some more done along with having to wash "the all white" due to her getting caught out in the rain last nite. 1st grind on new metal primed up looking well tried up the bumper & new body kit fits perfect We found a little bit on front passebger inner wheel well yesterday got that grinded now primed waiting for stone chip Front end is now ready to fit passenger wing then remove driverswing & fit new one straight away. :banana_dance: Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Guest John Posted March 5, 2011 Share Posted March 5, 2011 well had a busy day today finished decorating the dinning room lunch time straight in garage fantastic dry weather today so work head on. got passengersde wing on then started otherside. got driverside wing on aswell put lights in to line up,then thought i'll try bumper etc So then i relised all the front is finished i need to turn her round so tried her on her new wheels. emptied her & pushed her up drive to turn round,shes now in ready for work to start on the rear end again finally progress it feels like anyhow :banana_dance: Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
