  1. Nice day to go for a drive !!! Shame I decided to work on my cab this weekend First off.... Rear drums and shoes Had a look and they looked ok drums fine shoes good, no brake fluid leeks so quick clean and put back together. Next up front discs and pads..... out with the old and in with the new and yes before someone asks they are still the XR3i front discs next job was new HT leads... I know the 10mm leads are over kill next small job was cheching all the nuts and bolts 2 had come lose on the manifold to turbo think I need to get new tab washers the next time the turbos out !! btw, Anyone know what this sensor is ?? I'm not sure its working right as it got a smack from a hammer.... by accident I thought it was a knock sensor, but I can't find a replacement anywhere.
  2. sadly I dont have the 17" 7 spokes I regret selling them !!!
  3. Looked what DHL dropped off today..... and in this little box was.... new drums, shoes and fitting kit New pads and new clips and discs should be here soon Complete engine gasket set... get my project engine build started The old engine is getting tired (smoking when first started and compression down on 2 pistons) so I'm on the hunt for a rs turbo engine block... If you have 1 knocking around and your in the Kent area let me know
  4. Azure is much more blue than that.... mine is azure
  5. dont think we can get an adjustable 1 as standard.... need to pay a lot more for them. that why i ask the best way to set 1 up.
  6. Thought about getting a front end strut brace myself and I know how to fix 1 in but what is the best way to set 1 up??? Front end under full weight, with it jacked off the ground or jacked up half way. What the thoughts on this ?
  7. sounds like a wiring issue for the battery light to stay on without the ignition being live.

    Engine.....

as someone thats done a Erst conversion on my mk4 I would say don't do it.......... reason ? As much as I love what my car goes like now I have a couple of points I hate about it now...... 1, Petrol........ cuz i drive my car like a c**t I can get better fuel economy out of a 5.7 ltr cadillac. 2, Parts are a little pricer and I tend to find that parts dont last as long (just replaced front wheel bearings AGAIN after just 1year). 3, With close to 200bhp (169bhp when it was tuned) it's pointless driving with wet roads (Hate to think what 300+ is like) 4, Petrol..... ummmm said that already right ? If I can think of any more I will add Conclusion: After spending something in the range of £1300 on the conversion I kinder wish I had spent it on the body work to help the car last another 15-20 years, rather than putting a turbo in it and potentionly shorting the life of my cab.
  9. on mk4s it was easy.... just had to remove a relay from under the dash on the drivers side.... dont ask me what colour it was cuz I can't remember
  10. thanks Jon and Andrew. At he mo I have the AVO road sports suspension with 50mm drop springs (more like 60mm with the added weight of a cabriolet) and a front 1 has started to leak, so im going to get FITP out the way first before I phone up who I got them from cuz you know I'll have to strip it down and send that 1 strut back. Would like to go coilovers but maybe i'll try diffrent springs first and see how that feels. Thanks again for your input and I'll keep you posted on how things go
  11. Any1 got them fitted to their cab ? I'm just looking around at any coilovers and the prices so any help would be much appreciated.
  12. thanks for the info everyone.. i'll be making some calls when i think the cars ready
  13. ok tony.... and what one do you recommend ?
