At the risk of being laughed at.....

I am in need of a replacement clock for the cabby....

I have looked in the usual places online with no luck....

Has anyone got one for sale (At a realistic Price)

Or is there anothe model of ford that used the same clock?

Any help welcome

Derek

Far from laughing, we're watching eagerly for any alternatives too. There's a few Mk5 being "broken/sold" on ebay but they all seem to be jokers who never reply back after the first few messages and setting up a deal... It's the LCD screen that's failed on ours too, cracked in half before we got it. If all else fails I'm going to look into finding a suitable replacement for just the LCD, perhaps from a Sierra/Fiesta of that era as they look the same but in different housings.

EDIT-: Just noticed, we've been near your neck of the woods today. Went for a run out to Matlock Bath in our cabby. (in lieu of looking round the cancelled Gawsworth classic show)

Know the feeling with ebay jokers had that trouble last year they had the part I had the funds but they don't want to talk I think they love the power of haveing something you need don't give up it's worth the fight in the long term

I won't give them the pleasure of knowing we're keen lol, can't be that many of us all lining up to buy Mk5 cabby bits so I'll let them think a while and see if they bother coming "back to the table".

Meantime, I'm now planning on just spending a bit of time and fabricating replacement wing bottoms rather than waiting for something with good ones to come up/modifying hatchback ones. All it means is the cabby will have to go about with a wing bottom chopped out for a few days which, to be honest, isn't that much different to how it is now considering how rotted away they are!

Derek, if we come up with a suitable replacement LCD screen I'll post back and let you know. Maybe more economical in the long run to repair what we have than mess round looking for elusive bits. Till then, good luck with the search.
