Guest username
OK am pulling my hair out now lol, just been searching for the correct pins to connect an LED to read any fault codes and can't find anything showing what to connect where on the 3-pin connector that our car has. Plenty of pics/diagrams etc for some weird 5-pin setup but not ours, it's supposed to be so easy haha, anyone help please?

Guest username
Yeh sorry could have worded that better lol, I know where the plug itself is, I'm just trying to find what pins to connect to read codes from an LED or multimeter, as opposed to being sensible and buying a code reader haha. I know an LED goes in one of the pins and another is supposedly shorted to earth but was looking for more definite info before cooking the ECU with wrong connections

Guest username
Sorted in the end, found the answer in this month's Car Mechanics magazine no less! It's almost as if that mag is psychic, this kinda thing has happened a couple of times now haha. Anyway for future reference, connect a jumper between the bottom 2 pins and a test lamp between the third pin and battery + Peace of mind restored now, codes were clear.
