Hi I'm new to the forum but I want to start a thread on the restoration of my 1991 H reg mk4 cab I've only got her today and I've got to do a bit of temporary work to get her thru the mot! but I've got a feeling this might be a long thread, when I've finished I'm hoping she'll be a real head turner!! So I'll apologise upfront for the time it may take me to complete it and hopefully for you to read it through to the end. I'll get some pictures on tomorrow so you can see what I'm starting with but I'm lucky cos she's pretty solid and standard. I just hope at the end it makes for good reading and a lovely looking mk4 cab

Actually guys whilst I'm thinking about it do you reckon I should keep the original paint scheme or go for all burgundy? Being a painter you would think I could make my own mind up but knowing so many colours I could put on gets my mind racing and to be honest I wanted a bit of fresh perspective on it because I keep umming and arring over keeping it two tone or going for complete red/ burgundy, do me a faver and tell me what you guys think! it might help me make up my mind once and for all!!!!!

Think I've finally decided on a colour, the old cossie colour nouveau red, I just love deep metallic reds like that and I wanted to keep a ford colour on it and keep it close to the original colour being a burgundy so I'm probably 90%sure that's what I'm going for???

Any feed back would be welcome cheers

Managed to get passenger side ready for primer and thought I would give my wheels a refurb whilst I'm doing the car, i think I'll do em anthracite thought I may as well do the lot whilst I'm on also spent over £500 on eBay on bits for it. Wifey was not happy as you can imagine but at least she'll be nice when I've finished or at least that's what I keep tellin the missus !!

Also has anyone ever fitted a s2 rs turbo side skirts and arches to these? Cos I've bought a kit of eBay fibre glass replica and at first offering up they look well crap to fit! Any advice or comments would be welcome and helpful cheers.

Yeah it's a fibre glass job! Might not bother with it if it's gonna be git to fit, thought I'd buy it and see what it's like but not very good at first glances, I might have a play around with it and see if I can make it fit! If not its in the skip
