I have a standard radio in my mk 5 escort xr3i and it works fine until I turn the headlights on and then the radio go off and if I turn the lights off and turn the radio back on I have to put the code in again. Guest Lee81 Posted October 27, 2014 Share Posted October 27, 2014 Ditto the wiring. The radio going off when lights are on is normally a sign of alternator bushs being worn so not enough charge. Voltage drops and radio goes off. Though this would never be below the point to wipe memory and make you enter the code each time.
