Guest Josclark
If I put the hood up (Mk 5) before starting the engine in the morning, the engine will not start except with a push start. Thereafter, once started, it will start all day long (whilst hood down). There must be some disabling switch/relay/fuse I need to sort. I know not what. Any help will be gratefully received! Thanks. Vincygav
Using the hood before starting could be causing battery drain. Try starting the engine, run for 2-3 mins, then switch off, then raise the hood, it should have power to restart.
Guest Josclark
Thanks for this. Tried it, although the battery is fairly new. Not resolved. Must be electrical/switch issue.............
