Mk4 Cabby Roof Not Working

hi just picked up a mk4 cab with electric roof but does not work when i press buttons i hear a clicking noise any ideas ? and how would i test to see if switch is at fault

brand new to mk4 3i (well, not brand new, my dad had them as a kid) i also bought my mk4 3i project car today, its the 89 efi version.... when i try put roof dow, nothing happens..... i havnt had a proper look yet, but i my roof hydraulic or elec, or both.... or what?? im clueless haha... wouldnt make a good mechanic... thats for sure lol

Try checking the oil level on the pump in the boot as my mk6 roof stopped just the other day and i topped the oil up with hydraulic oil and it works fine now. Also check that the T-piece is tuned in the right position that can also be found on the pump in the boot (just by rear light cluster). Hope this helps. Good luck

make sure the key is on the first click on the ignition ..no dash lights etc

most common mistake that people make lol
