Guest Daniel Llewellyn
Hi everyone first time on the forum this year after the awful weather! Hope you don't mind me sharing some pics of my 1996 Escort Ghia Cabby Just had some nice weather here in Heath Hayes so thought I'd share some new photos of my Ghia cabby now that I have had some work done on it. Spent a lot of money on having the bodywork tidied up on it recently at Chase Accident Repairs, had the doors treated for rust and resprayed, and they resprayed the wheel arches too as they were going rusty, and some other bits. Dent fixed on the boot as well and the passenger door. And it has just passed its MOT needing only two new rear tyres (all four tyres are now matching Avon tyres!) and an oil filler cap of all things! I also polished the paintwork today using Auto Glym Deep Shine that I bought online as I heard it is good at reducing the appearance of swirl marks on dark colours and it does appear to have made a difference! Also bought for it some very nice, new and very rare headlight covers from eBay. I don't have the heart to leave them on all the time as they are like new! I also have some used headlight covers too which I keep on the car for everyday driving. These are for best as they are immaculate, and boxed too. They would look great if I got to take it to any car shows? And this was quite nice, also bought on eBay, the original 1996 sales brochure for the Escort, featuring my model the Escort Ghia Cabriolet! May take it to some shows in the summer if they're near enough? Can't drive far as I don't like driving places I don't know especially if it's somewhere busy! I've heard there are car shows around Chasewater in Norton Canes or Longford, Staffordshire sometimes, very near where I live? Thanks for looking
