Hi,

I have a Escort XR3i cabriolet 1992

I have tried to open the bonnet on my car, but the cable is loose so has either snapped or come unclipped. I have read on forums about going under the car and releasing it that way, but I've gone under mine and you can't get to it as the part where the ford badge is, goes right near the radiator so can't get anything up to push on the latch.

I can see where the latch is, that comes out when u pull the release cable through the gap under the bonnet, is it this part I have to move? If so is it left, right, up or down?

If not can you tell me which part and if I can't get to it, what are my other options.

Many thanks

Eve

I was thinking of getting some thin rope and hooking on the lever and pulling it, is this not the lever I need to pull?

if its just a unclipped cable and the tension has made it slack then undo the bonnet release latch inside the car and use a pair of pliers on the cable
