I bought my clifford alarm from the states. Cost £160.00 inc postage. Its the clifford avantaguard 5.5. I then found my nearest clifford approved installer which was in leicester. They fitted it for £140 and supplied certificate for insurance. Thats £ 300.00 all in. The same alarm would cost £1200 from Gap security fitted.

By far the best way of doing it I think. Plus have the warrenty on it

Are you sure it is insurance improved??

Thatcham units are built especially for the UK as in the US they dont have thatcham. This could affect your insurance and invalidate any claim. How would you produce your reciepts?

Also the warranty would not be covered in the UK.

Cheap options are not always the best. Fitters will fit anything if it involves money.

For under £500 you could have the alarm fitted in the UK with all paperwork and also lifetime warranty aslong as you own the car.

If GAP are charging £1200, RUN......

I had my fitted in Luton by My link

They also sorted out some of the wiring in my car including the electric hood.

They can do door popers and central locking aswell as many other products.
