Guest Cabbytech
There are a few variations, these are the common ones.... 1st option......To programme a new key turn the ignition on with your master key wait a few seconds turn the ignition off and then insert your new key, turn ignition on and this should do it. or 2nd option......1) Insert the red master key and turn to position "I" and back to "O", do this 4 times within 8 seconds, the forth time you go to "I" the LED should illuminate for 5 seconds. 2) Remove the red key within the 5 seconds. LED will stay on. 3) Insert black key to be programmed, and turn to" I "once and then remove. The programming will be confirmed by the red LED going out for 2 seconds and then coming back on. 4) If no other keys are programmed within 30 seconds or any programmed key is turned to position "II", then program mode will be terminated. I notice you said that you turned key to position "II", on some models that just terminates program mode, and that may be the case here.NOTE..... the programming sequence can be different for different years/models. Let us know how you get on. Hope this helps, regards, Tony
Guest RelaxedDiver
hi, thanks for the reply tony, option one does have the light comming on, where as option two doesnt bring light on at all. however after following the first method i keep getting error code 13 (when using new key)from the pats light saying ist not recognising the transponder in the key. have just noticed that it is a blue bit of plastic in the top of the slave key would this affect it? cheers rd
Guest Cabbytech
Hmmm, the blue transponder is for later types, this prob explains why its not programming up, code 1.3 means "key code not received" i would have thought yours should have the red transponder in it, i would go back to the dealer and get a black key with the red insert m8 and your problem should then be closer to being solved.
