Guest dave29
hi all.ive just hooked up a boot pop to the cabby which is opperated by a switch on the dash but i want to wire it in to the alarm so it pops by remote.it needs a relay to power the solenoid as the output on the boot pop wire on the alarm is only 200ma......not enough to pop it. how do i wire the relay? cheers all. Guest Cabbytech
Well the relay coil needs to be connected to your remote alarm signal 12v wire and the cars earth return, then you need to pick up a 12v fused supply from somewhere to feed the solenoid thru the relays normally open contact, then on the last relay connection which will break into the boot solenoid feed, wire this so that it directly operates the solenoid, but put a diode into the wire going back to the existing circuit to stop a back feed from your new circuit, hope this helps, its a lot easier to draw this than to try and write it up lol. If you have access to a fax machine, PM me the number and i will fax you a sketch of how it should look when wired..
