there must be a pink relay under there, or a black one. but either one will be plugged into a pink plug. its under the driver side dash, it may be stuck up somewhere. it is there unless some nancy has moved it for some reason

hi peter....had a look for the wire colours so you can do it the hard way...the pin numbers will be stamped on the relay base. K and KE jetronic are the same apart from pin 15.

Pin Wire

1 Green/Red

15 Black x 2 (1 maybe green/black tho)

87 Black/Red x 2

30 Red

31 Brown

the contact that makes the pump run is between 30 and 87.

good luck in finding it....I would have been looking for a pink one as well tho

it dosen't matter if its 1990 or 1989, the feul pump relay is normally plugged into a pinky purple plug the relay is a pink one if its a genuine ford one. or it could be a black one if its a after market one. i have never know a mk4 not too have these plugs etc. it must be there. check the relay and see if any of them say fuel pump relay on them too.

TBH there is a lot of wiring up there and the wires can get hooked up out of sight. i know its back and neck breaking but lot again
