  1. Hi I have just bought some Bilstein B4- Front Shocks for my 1997 Cabriolet Online @ Autodoc Part No 22-045560 Gebruiksnummer: BILSTEIN VNE4556 EAN: BILSTEIN 4025258464479 But they don't seem to be able to supply the correct Coil Springs ? The ones listed do not appear to be suitable for my car ? and the ones that say they are for my car, don't seem to be correct either ?? I want standard Springs not lowered ones. HELP I believe they should be B3- ? ............... They might be able to help further if I have the OEM for the original springs ? and the number of DOTS on them ? BUT without tacking the old ones off I cannot give them that info and cant wait with the car in the garage ( daily driver ) while waiting for them to work out the correct ones and then send them to me Can anyone give me the info they need or can anyone tell me which Coil Springs will fit this MK 7 Cabriolet and are compatible with the Bilstein Shocks I bought Thanks in advance

Also posted in the Roof Section Thanks in advance

  7. Hi Yep I tried Ebay or the similar thing ( Marktplaats ) over here but do not like buying stuff unless they have OEM Nos or they look identical and sometimes you just cant see from all angles or the Nos With Breakers Yards because of Covid there Shut over here for the moment so waiting as most people to get in there again to find some bits The https://ford.7zap.com/en/car/ link was good thanks for that.
  8. Hi 2 Questions, Where can I get Original Front Windscreen Washer Jets ( heated ) for my car ? I tried cleaning and adjusting, but there still no good, do any other cars have the same type IE. Early Focus models ? Tried the usual Autodoc Etc but they do not look the same as mine. Has anyone got the OEM Nos. And Secondly is there a site that list ALL Parts with Original Numbers with PICTURES for my car ? it is a 1997 Ford Escort Cabriolet 1.6 ( LHD ) ? like they have at the Ford Dealership when you go there ? I live in Holland so shipping will have to be arranged but this should not be a problem Thanks in advance Nick
  9. Hi All I have a 1997 Escort Cabriolet Mk VII 1.6i 16v Zeetec-E- EFI ( 90PK / 67KW ) Can I fit a 1995 ( MAY 10th) 1.8 XR3i ESCORT CABRIO 1.8 16V U9 ( 102PK / 75KW ? engine into it ? The engine is still in the old car and is running so I will buy the whole car and Swap it over ( changing gaskets etc while its out ), if its possible with no major adjustments. I can do basic work on my car and have access to a car lift and a workshop so would like to do it myself ( with help from mechanics if needed ) Is it a matter of old out new in ? what modifications do I need to do ? If any ? Engine Mounts / Gear linkage / Exhaust / Any Sensors / Drive shafts / Connections for Coolant / Heating / Fuel / Electrical connections Etc Etc. I need to change the ECU I presume ? but is the loom Etc all good ? to just plug and run ? Has any one done this or can you offer any advice

  11. Thanks for your help lets hope not everything is rusted underneath there's only a couple of spots at the moment showing and hopefully I can stop it getting worse.
  12. I have a MKVII 1997 there are some rust spots under the strip, where the bodywork at the rear joins the moulding strip that holds the rear / bottom of the roof, and that the tonneau cover fixes to with 5 fixing pins. How do i remove the strip to repair / repaint the bodywork ? I can only see screws at the end by the Rear Quarter Window ? on the outside are there any more on the inside ? Does it just pull off ? What else holds it in place ? Are the pins that the tonneau cover clip onto fixed to the bodywork and if so how do they come out ( plastic coated so I do not want to try and grip them to twist them ? ) Thanks for any advice Nick

  15. See my earlier post regarding this speedometer cable the new cable arrived correct length this time 1422 mm BUT the fitting that goes onto the speed sensor in the engine bay below the starter motor is too big ( 1.9 mm inside diameter ) and the thread is a different type, and the inner ( metal ) cable does not seem to fit into the speed sensor correctly ?? I know I could get a secondhand one from a breakers but would like a new one just to be sure I'm not buying one with the same problem as the car is 21 years old again the website above quotes it fits my car but again it DOES NOT ? Can anyone help me find the correct part ? in the UK or Europe I've tried searching everywhere on the net but come up blank ? OEM No. 7332146 1422 mm in length Connected to speed sensor, outside of sensor thread size ( inside of connector ) Diameter = 1.8 mm The car is a 1997 Escort Cabriolet 1.6, Left Hand Drive, Manual, Vin No. WF0LXXGKALVC93665
